How does your instrument improve your daily life as a musician?
My Yamaha instruments give me the ease and confidence I need for any job I'm doing.
What are the most outstanding features of your instrument?
The versatility, without question. My Yamaha YTR-6335RC trumpet is an exceptionally responsive instrument with enormous projection and perfect intonation. This means it's always the right choice for any setting, style or genre.
When did you first come across Yamaha?
My first trumpet was a Yamaha, the YTR-2330 model. Over the years, I've tried countless brands and models, but in the end, I always come back to the instruments that are the most reliable and versatile. On top of all this, the company provides great service and technical support.
Which musician has influenced you the most in your music career? Are you still following any of their advice?
I couldn't pick just one person. I've had the chance to be tutored by first-class instrumentalists and to work with accomplished musicians across the globe. Each of them has instilled in me their advice and wealth of knowledge, which has pushed me to grow constantly, both as a musician and as a person.
What advice would you give to a musician who is just starting out in their career?
Right from the word go, keep in mind that music is a way of life. It's a tough profession that demands great effort and discipline, but with time and dedication, all that hard work leads to a feeling of artistic and personal fulfillment that comes with standing on a stage and enjoying doing what you love most.
I'd also say that you shouldn't close yourself off. Always be open-minded, because music is music. No matter the genre or style, play with passion. And, most importantly, don't let anyone tell you what you can or cannot achieve.
