Top clarinet artists come together at Yamaha’s inaugural Custom Clarinet Forum
On the 22nd May 2017 Yamaha hosted some of Europe’s most talented clarinet professionals at their headquarters near Hamburg, Germany.
An event that brought together Yamaha Clarinet Artists from across Europe, attendees were able to get hands on with the complete Yamaha Custom Clarinet range as well as exchange ideas with each other.
Led by Yamaha’s Woodwind Specialists Isawo Miyachi, Rolf Hinrichs and Jonas Lange, guests were given an insight into the history of Yamaha Wind Instruments as well as how the Custom clarinet range was developed. Also on hand at the event was Hiraku Adachi, a highly skilled Yamaha clarinet designer from Yamaha based in Japan. Mr. Adachi gave artists at in-depth look at how he worked, what a designer does, and the importance of the connection between artist and designer.
Yamaha’s clarinet range has had a significant facelift in the last few years with the new instruments receiving praise from throughout the clarinet community. With high profile names such as Michael Collins and choosing Yamaha, word is spreading about these fantastic instruments and the opportunities they give to discerning musicians.
